CORNERSTONES GRANT PROGRAM
Affordable housing is a primary need for our vibrant capital city. The City Council approved Cornerstones Plan is a five year plan designed to help increase the supply of safe, adequate, and affordable housing for citizens.

Secondary Suites are an integral part of the strategy and offer an affordable rental option while providing a revenue stream for homebuyers/owners.

GOAL OF THE PROGRAM
The Cornerstones Grant Program for building a Secondary Suite in a New Home will help increase the number of new long term affordable rental units. These units conform to City zoning and Provincial building code requirements.

AVAILABLE FUNDING
Citizens can apply for a one time grant up to a maximum of $20,500 per Secondary Suite. The entire amout of this grant can be applied to the purchasers' down-payment.
